Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or playing GeoPin (available at geopin.co or through mobile app stores), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use GeoPin. GeoPin is operated by SDSparkle ("we", "us", "our").
2. Eligibility
GeoPin is intended for users of all ages. If you are under 13, you may play as a guest without creating an account. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 13 years old, or that a parent or legal guardian has consented to your use of GeoPin.
3. Your Account
When you create an account, you are responsible for:
- Keeping your password confidential
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Choosing a username that is not offensive, impersonating, or misleading
We reserve the right to terminate accounts with usernames that violate these terms or that we find objectionable, at our sole discretion.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Cheat, exploit bugs, or use bots, scripts, or automation to gain an unfair advantage
- Attempt to manipulate the leaderboard through fraudulent means
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from GeoPin
- Use GeoPin in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our servers or infrastructure
- Harass, threaten, or impersonate other users
- Use GeoPin for any unlawful purpose
We reserve the right to remove scores, suspend, or permanently ban accounts that violate these terms.
5. Virtual Currency & Items
GeoPin includes a virtual currency ("GeoCoins") and cosmetic items (pins, skyboxes). These are in-game items only:
- GeoCoins and cosmetics have no real-world monetary value
- They cannot be transferred, sold, or traded between accounts
- They cannot be exchanged for real money
- We may modify, adjust, or remove virtual items at any time
Any GeoCoins or cosmetics you earn are a limited, revocable license to use those in-game items while you have a valid account in good standing.
6. User Content
The primary content you submit consists of your username and game scores. By submitting these, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display and use this content to operate the leaderboard and game service.
You are solely responsible for any username or content you provide. Usernames must not be offensive, obscene, or infringe on any third party's rights.
7. Intellectual Property
GeoPin and all content within it — including but not limited to the globe graphics, UI design, trivia questions, sound, and GeoPin logo — are owned by SDSparkle and protected by copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from GeoPin content without our express written permission.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
GeoPin is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the game will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs. We make no guarantees about the accuracy of trivia content.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SDSparkle shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use GeoPin, including loss of scores, coins, or cosmetic progress.
10. Modifications to the Game and Terms
We may modify GeoPin — including features, scoring, virtual items, or availability — at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms; when we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of GeoPin after any changes constitutes acceptance.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to GeoPin at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. You may stop using GeoPin at any time; to delete your account, email us at hello@sdsparkle.com.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
